This list is provided to give you a general idea about what to pack.

General:

Food, beverage
Driver’s license, matches and lighter
Flashlight (with fresh batteries)
Sleep’n bag
Camera (don’t forget to charge your batteries)
Sunglasses
Prescription medication

Toiletries (soap, toothpaste, shampoo, tissues,towel, etc.)
Passport

Towels and wash cloths for showering

International calling card if you want to use the phone
NO PISTOLS IN CANADA

Fishing:

Fishing rods
Lures (jigs, spoons, etc)
Worms(no live nor dead minnows permitted)
Lifejackets

Rain gear
Cooler
Flashlights and Batteries for Evening Fishing
1gallon freezer bags to freeze fillets

Big net for big fish
Hook remover
Fishing hat / cap

Hunting:

Fluorescent orange vest
Knives
Thermocell with refills
Bug net/jacket
Warm underwear
Long johns
Woolsocks
Woolshirt or sweater
Hunting trousers

Warm windbreaker
2-piece rain suit
Waterproof gloves
A good pair of boots (non-skid and waterproof)
Light shoes for the camp
Small nap sac
Firearms and munitions
Rifles must be transported in a case

Spotting scope or binoculars
Compass
Camouflage huntingsuits
Rifle
Each rifle must be in a case during transport. Don’t forget your bullets!!!
If you’re coming from another country, make sure your rifle is registered to cross the border

Firearms:

You may bring your firearm(s) into Canada by following these simple steps:

  • Please review Canadian Firearms Forms
  • Fill out the form…but do not sign
  • Bring form to Canada customs at the border…you sign your form there and pay $25.00
    *Each hunter may bring up to three firearms with their form and $25.00 fee.

Other:

  • Please use the link Firearms Forms to download the proper forms required to bring firearms into Canada.
  • Rifles should be sighted for 150-200 yards for moose.
  • Rifles should be sighted for 50-100 yards for black bears.
  • For transportation into Quebec, pack your rifle in a proper gun case which can be locked.
  • Your ammunition can also be stored in the hard case.
  • Don’t forget to bring a soft case.
